Current Mood: collegey
Current Music: ROTC people screaming outside
I can't believe what a nice day it is outside. It's sunny, the snow is melting, there's people outside walking around holding hands and walking adorable puppies. There's dozens of airplanes and frisbees flying around...it's just gorgeous, I tell ya. Awesome mail day. I'm all relaxed because it's Saturday, and two of my three exams are over (I did horribly, but they're over!). I even got invited to an Anti-Valentine's Day party for tonight, which I'm considering going to. Plenty of homework and other things to do, but I don't particularly mind. I just feel like a true blue Purdue college student today.
Last night I fell under seige by the combined concern and pressure of several computer-minded friends of mine, so I've made a giant decision. After almost a dozen years of using AOL for everything (mail, IM, favorites, etc.), I've decided to make a switch to Firefox, AIM, and GMail. It'll take some time, surely, and I curl up in the fetal position every time I think about uninstalling AOL for good (it's just so ingrained in my internet experience!), but I think it's a change for the better. I truly have faith in those who would seek to lead me to the light.
Actual conversation:
(Purdue students held a charity bachelorette date auction on Thursday, and the Friday Night Improv Crew was discussing it, and comparing it to the bachelor date auction last month)
Guy 1: Dude, did you SEE that one chick? She was so hot.
Guy 2: You have no idea. I'm so pissed he outbid me.
Benji: If I was rich and had a fiberglass penis called a car, I would've bid too.
Engineer 1: Cars actually have a lot of metal and other composites in them too.
Guy 3: I can't believe I paid that much for one date.
Engineer 1: 20 guys yielded a total sum of just over $400. 12 girls raised over $1,100. The highest bid for one girl was $200. *chuckle amongst engineers*
Engineer 2: The mathematical average for the total auction per female was just $60...the distribution is obviously skewed.
