Haven't posted a real post in a long time. I'm going to try something new to try to get myself out of this depressive funk. Thanks to those who keep encouraging my writing.
Straight short hair.
Simple. Efficient, low maintenance - in and out of the shower. Comfortable. Thermally tailored to summer weather patterns. Professional, no bedhead. Boyish. "You look like an engineer." Boring. "You've had the same haircut since 4th grade."
...it's familiar.
Curly long hair.
I'm curious. Jenny likes it. Somebody asked to touch it the other day. Matt Risley and Joey Bryant. Growing it out like Bradley. It looks weird unless I shower. I can feel it touching my ears. For the first time I think I want long gorgeous man-pretty curly hair, like a rock star.
...I just can't fucking stand to see it like this sometimes.
Thoughts?

ReplyDeleteI tend to be hyper-utilitarian at times (and also see no problem with "looking like an engineer" :) so I'd cast my vote for short, but then on the other hand, I'm obviously not taking my own advice on that count.
I've always known you with longer, curly hair and it looked fine to me...But then, I have the fashion sense of a garden slug.
When the stops are all pulled I'd say it's Jenny's opinion you should think about. ;)
Oh yeah and, "it's your hair, do what you want."
And lose The Game while you're at it.

ReplyDeleteLong hair sucks monkey ass. It just does. Short hair is the way to go cause there is less effort needed. No effort in your case. The 'my hair is messy cause i want it that way so shut up' look is good.
ReplyDeleteIts unbelievably freaky in a twilight zone kinda way that you and your brother look so similar - alomst identical, only a little older.
You should see baby pictures of the two of them... you cannot tell them apart.

ReplyDeleteChristine thinks you should go for the middle ground. Shorter on the sides and back, longer on top. Ahhh, there's nothing like being on the fence on difficult issues! Christine knows what she's talking about because AAAALLLLLL her male friends come to her for advice on their hair!
ReplyDeleteAs you know... I like the longer look, though I'm not sure I'd like it Brian-May-long. I would not be opposed to the shorter sides/back and longer top look, I don't think, and it might drive you a little less crazy?
ReplyDeleteAnd as a girl, I've got to say I have no pity on your hair being "harder to manage" at the point it is now. I mean, reaaaally.
I personally like the shorter hair. If it gets to long and out of control it tends to look a little homeless person...not that homelessness cant be sexy too....
