I'm *this* close to reaching through the telephone and strangling the first Dell employee I talk to. Apparently, the credit card information I gave was bunk and therefore delayed my order. Which means I'm going to get my computer shipped to my dorm hall somewhere around the 17th or 18th. Yes, that's right. Meaning I'll be without a computer the first few days on campus, and receive my computer in the middle of Boiler Gold Rush. Perhaps waiting for something increases the ultimate value.....
I'll probably end up James Bonding around the campus, looking for a computer lab to steal a few minutes of blogger and/or AOL time.

I'm planning, listing, packing, and organizing for the big move. Dad rented a truck, and we'll leave Friday night, spend the night at our favorite hotel in West Lafayette, and move in the morning. Our move in block is from 8-10 AM on Saturday the 14th. Nice and earrrrrly. Jason (my roommate) moves in the next day (Sunday the 15th) at the same time. BGR activities start Sunday evening. I already have a massive set of boxes and things packed, and I'm almost done. Books have been ordered, registration's set, and I'm finishing the last of my visits tonight, tomorrow, and hopefully seeing AVP with some friends on Friday before I go. Looks like everything is just about done.
If I could ask for some advice from my friends who've been to college.....should I bring all my DVDs, or just some? I'm just thinking of the space they take up versus the relative entertainment value. *shrug*
Oh, and I got a haircut.

So everything sounds like its comming together for the big day. Good luck and enjoy the time you have now. Hope the campus is all you want it to be oh and remember to keep blogging despite the lack of a computer. And my advice on the DVDs, take them all. They're like little prepackaged memories of all the time you spent watching them. - cheers!
ReplyDeleteNonono...take them all, but put them in a CD case like people take on road trips and stuff...then it's only the size of two DVDs but you can fit a ton in there!
ReplyDeleteIf you got room in the truck, take all the DVDs.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't get entertainment value out of them, friends will.
I most definitely will be putting aside a box big enough to take all my DVDs.
ReplyDeleteI had a similar experience with Dell. I placed the order online, then received a note that my credit card did not go through. I called the bank and talked to a nice lady who told me they had put my verification number in the expiration date by mistake. I called Dell and was transferred to India where the man would only repeat "Our information is correct, you must contact your bank." When I finally gave up and told them I wanted to cancel the order, they transferred me to a nice lady who cancelled the order with no problem.
ReplyDeleteDude, I'm not gettin' a Dell. Award-winning customer service indeed.
