Neil Armstrong, 38 year old American astronaut
pronnounced
"That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind."
fufilling the promise of the late John F. Kennedy, made eight years earlier
"First, I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth. No single space project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploration of space; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish."
Damn kids with your hip-hop music.
ReplyDeleteHey i'm probably gonna piss you off you being a space cadet and all. But what do you say to all the people who think the landing was a hoax??
ReplyDeleteActually, it doesn't so much anger me as perplex me why resonable, sensible people would believe in such a story of a "hoax." I'm more than willing to discuss it to almost any length in detail, but the my first argument starts at badastronomy.com where astronomer Phil Plait debunks most of the hoax himself. Persistent hoax believers, I'll admit, can get under my skin if they persist, or believe just to make me mad.
ReplyDeleteI visited the site you mentioned - it was really interesting. I managed to watch that special which was really dramaticly made. But it still, as much as i hate to say it, it made me think that there are some striking points that can be raised about the landing. I'm a person who likes to think that anything is possible, so i'm not ruling anything out. But wouldn't it have been just as, if not more, of an event if it was a hoax? This is one of my favourite conspiracies.
