Here's sort of a mid-first-trimester review:
Period 1: AP English
Conway is not nearly as bad as I thought, but I'm kinda sick of doing English papers the morning they are due. Maybe I should start them earlier. I'm working really hard in there, though, and I'm borderline between A and B.
Period 2: AP Calculus
What the heck happened to Rabenstien? Every time somebody opens their mouth, she goes ballistic! Oh well. I totally got pwned by that latest calc quiz. On the whole, however, I really think I'm starting to understand derivatives. In fact, I think I like 'em (stressing so far).
Period 3: Study Hall
Besides the constant yelling of Mr. Lazaro, and the constant lateness coming from Calculus, I'd have to say that study hall is awesome. If not for David, I'd probably stab myself in the eye with a fork. Our daily discussions of Star Wars and video games, I wouldn't trade for the world. What little studying and homework I do do, it's usually done in there.
Period 4: AP Statistics
Ok, so Mrs. Kuzma, the ex- hippie/protestor, ex-Proctor and Gamble statistician who teaches at Amelia and lives in Indian Hill turns out to be quite a teacher. So far, this class has come the closest to being that magic balance between "thinking" questions and "real math" questions I've ever been in.
Period 5: AP Physics
:::sigh:::
What I thought would be my greatest and favorite class this year turns out to be quite the opposite. It's nobody's fault but mine, but I really do NOT have the time to devote to AP Physics like I need too. Maybe if I quit sleeping I could work enough problems to be like Matt or Chris and understand this stuff, but, alas, I'm human...........and like AP Chem last year, I'm afraid I've found my breaking point. I find myself constantly pushing my limits, and between flying, work, SEAP, and my other APs, I think that (unfortunately) AP Physics has drawn the short straw.
Period 6: AutoCAD
This class is a joke. Half of my blog posts are from this class. I'm posting from there now. I'm supposed to be designing a playground for our final exam but, like every project we do in here, I'm way ahead of the game. I wish that we had honors classes, I'd sure like to take honors AutoCAD (then I could actually learn things, but not kill myself with AP work).
