*Long gone are the days of Tang and freeze-dried Neopolitan Ice Cream in the world's space programs. China's spaceflight program features this appetizing menu: "eight-treasure rice pudding, fish-flavored shredded pork, and spicy hot diced chicken and peanuts." Another, less recent example of food and space technology combined- a flour tortilla for Mexican food with a shelf life of 8 months (without any physical changes, such as freeze-drying), invented by NASA scientists.
