Well, I've assuaged my guilty conscience about NHS. I still believe somewhat in the hipocracy/activities in the group, but at least I don't feel like a hippocrite for being in it. (A little bit of background) Since I came from GE to Amelia, I really don't know any underclassmen and I only know about 1/10 of the seniors, thus I have little/no desire to tap. I'd rather save that honor for somebody who actually knows the people. Additionally, work and flying make it all but impossible for me to go to all the neccesary events. I told Ms. Smith, and she said that was fine. I still, however, wanted to get some points overall, so I went to the workday on Monday, only to learn that our points reset (like at the end of last year) at the end of the tapping. Thus, if I went to the workday, I'd be earning points toward something that A) I wasn't going to attend anyway, and B) I wouldn't get enough points anyway. (background ends here) HOWEVER, I stayed. I stayed at the workday Monday after school, for no reason other than to help out. No points, no rewards. That, in essence, is what NHS is all about.
