Sat Evening
So we drove from dinner to the Oasis. We arrived about 9 (fashionably late, or something like that). I was all about the inside pocket on my tux, that's where I kept our tickets (not a big deal for most, but for those of you who know my obsession with James Bond/spy movies, you know what fun that was). Prom was really fun. I had a good time, and I think that the good experience will lead me to go to other dances. We took some pictures, me and Kristen, and then the whole group (this spawned the best joke/insult of the evening- Jason: "Everybody line up for pictures, tallest to Garwood" ) and since she was sitting down, she was definitely shorter than me. Many couples were there that I knew, and I said hi to many people. I agree with Chris and Jason here, the DJ wasn't very good. I don't have much to compare that to, but I didn't think it was very good dancing music. Nevertheless, I enjoyed "dancing" a lot. Let me clarify here. Roughly a quarter of the time they played songs that have specific associated dances (Electric slide, Line dance, ect.) and I can't pretend I know them because I don't. Another quarter was songs that I just kinda danced to.......generic songs that I didn't really dance to but didn't just stand there (this is where you, the audience, come in- you tell me how I danced). The remaining half of the time was devoted to slow dancing. I like slow dancing. I saw Jason and Karen once or twice........no offense, but I'm just glad that I can dance with Kristen without straining my neck or my back. Kristen is short and so am I, so dancing worked out great. Yes, generally slow dances were country music songs (not my favorite).......but I wasn't listening to the music very much. I think Kristen looked really pretty the whole night long. Next stop, afterprom.
