I tried so hard to keep it a secret.
I had to check each post to make sure I didn't mention it. Remembered not to tell anybody I thought might intentionally or unintentionally give it away. Left the details with my roommate just in case. I got ahold of Jacob ahead of time and in secret. Planned out the route, got times, locations, details, and even made sure to pay for everything. Had an alibi of the Purdue/IU game. I quietly slipped away from Purdue around 3:30pm on Friday with my friends Jen and Jasmine and drove down to stay in Lawrenceburg (our base of operations). Bought the flowers before the show. Sent Jen to get the tickets and snuck quietly into the theatre a few minutes before the show started.
And in the end, it made no difference.
Yes, I made it to Sis's big improv sketch comedy, "To Hell With It". And she knew I was going to be there because Dad called her looking for me. Good thing it was hilarious! Great show by the entire Tower Players Improv club- "Miami's First, Best, and ONLY improv troupe". It doesn't matter that the suprise failed, I was excited and happy to see Sis (and Jacob and Jared, too!). Got to have Steak and Shake for a bit afterwards. I'm looking forward to seeing my whole family and getting our house put back together over Thanksgiving break. Just two short days of class.
...they're so much funnier than our improv club.
I also got to see "Seven" with my friends, meet half of Lawrenceburg, as well as try my hand at Halo 2 (I was throroughly unimpressed). And I have to state here that if you're all about Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving is over, you're a tool.
While I was off in Lawrenceburg and Oxford, Orton and Company were busy KICKING INDIANA UNIVERSITY'S SORRY ASS. We beat them 63-24 in the annual Old Oaken Bucket game and things really couldn't have gone better. 530 total offensive yards, six touchdowns, and Stubblefield caught 14 passes to break the NCAA record. As soon as we play the bowl game, I get my Saturdays back.

Good call, Fedus. I'm sure Goldeneye and Pefect Dark have earned their way onto the top games of all time lists with nary a thought. Gamers DO go nuts over non-sucky FPSs.
ReplyDeleteHalo 2 was decent in the hour or so that I played (in my opinion), but the hype made me believe that I would die and be reincarnated as a cooler video gamer after playing this game.
Andy's right...
ReplyDeletemost console FPS are mediocre at best
mostly because the natural mouse-keyboard control scheme of a PC has yet to be duplicated with a console controller
