A productive Labor Day weekend with a few good things:
1. Registered to vote and sent in my application for an absentee ballot.
Voting Rocks!
2. Workouts and my first Purdue fountain run.
3. 51-0 shut out against Syracuse on Sunday. As far as first football games go, I thought this one was pretty badass. I still think football is an inferior sport compared to say, NASCAR or MLB, but school spirit.....wow. Eric said he could hear the student section on TV. The Ross-Ade stadium was packed with gold and black students....chanting, screaming, throwing things (definitely got nailed with an ice cube), yelling, cursing, jumping, crowd surfing, The Waveing.....oh, it was just awesome. BOILER UP! The All-American Marching Band played Ozzy's "Crazy Train" (get it?) and stormed the field at halftime to make a giant Boilermaker Train. I'm going to go ahead and say it- The Syracuse "Orange" fails to match up against "Purdue Pete" OR the "Boilermaker Special." I think I might've gotten almost sunburned (because it was so hot) but it was so much fun. Definitely want to get in on the Tailgating/free food action next game (Saturday vs. Ball State).
I definitely want a Boiler helmet, giant foam hand, and a flag.
4. Even though most of the people around here left home, and it rained a healthy amount today, and I have homework to do, and I was kinda bored sometimes, and I missed the Toyota/WEBN fireworks in Cincinnati.........I still managed to survive the weekend. Lots of "down time" back at the bachelor pad. Got a letter from Gramdma and a package from home (THANK YOU BOTH).
5. Probably the best part was getting 30 hours of sleep in three nights. *rested*
