David's Graduation Party ended up bleeding into an afternoon hang out, which became an all day get-together, which morphed into a sleepover. w00t. I just got back and all cleaned up. Let's recap some of the highlights.
*David's actual party, from 2pm-5:30pm*
Bar-b-que, cookie cake, and Mt. Dew. Yum.
Hanging out with the gang (David, Dan, Peter, Casey, Eric, Jason, Karen, Kevin, and a lot of David's friends/family).
David's parents put together a very sentimental and touching recap slideshow of David since early childhood. I'm so jealous. No, I really am.
Jason and to a lesser extent, David, totally schooled the rest of us in Cornhole, and for what it's worth, Eric and I are just about exactly matched in skill: Sux0rs.
*Frisbee Golf, 5:30pm-8pm*
Jamming to Queen on the way to Woodland Mound with my newest Queen convert, Eric.
I incorrectly assumed that nobody in the group (Kevin, Dan, Eric, and David) besides me had any skill in frisbee golf and proceeded to get extremely pissed at myself for being bothered by the fact that David ended up -12 (my goal was double digits under), Kevin stayed with me the entire game (beat me at the end), and I ended up with a -5 due to some sloppy throws and simply being being upset with myself. I should've been happy for them, not jealous. Like Kevin said in his graduation speech- there will always be somebody better. Ok, so David beat us all. Stop worrying. Calm down. Go to my happy place. Get back to worrying about beating your own score, and go practice some more. *Note to self: start frisbee golfing on a regular basis. Maybe every few days.*
*Late night jams with the guys, 8pm-5am*
Drove to Dan's and Eric's to pick up guitars, amps, music, games, and other misc. stuff. Thank you Eric for the Purdue stuff......have fun at OSU with David and Dan, and don't worry about "what might've been."
Listened to the Reds Game (win), watched hockey (somebody won, and Kevin was happy), watched DDR, was introduced to Spike TV, MXC, and the 100 Greatest Moments in Metal History, visited some guy's web site that was uber funny, stole Kevin's cold pizza, and learned a few chords/notes on the guitar (My fingers hurt so bad, and I played for about 10 minutes. I think I'll stick to drums and vocals, thank you).
Stayed up until the early hours watching Penn and Teller's Bullshit, a show debunking liars, frauds, scams, myths, creationists, psychics, hippies, fakes, and other bullshit. My new favorite show.
*Sleep, 5am-1pm*
Waterbed at David's = w00t. Thought David's cat was David's hand, and was very disturbed for a bit.
*Waking up with a headache, but more from laughing instead of alcohol, 1-5*
Training for college. Staying up late, sleeping in, and eating whatever I can find. I had Fruity Pebbles, beef jerky, and leftover party food for breakfast. Watched the rest of Penn and Teller, as well as some more Comedy Central. Left to clean up and prepare for movie marathons.
Tentative schedule for the next few days:
Monday: Alien marathon at David's
Tuesday: errands
Wednesday: dentist appt.
I had such a fun time, and I think it was entirely due to my friends, and I think I like that. I wish I could've gone to school from the get-go with these people. People that share the same interests and still manage to maintain their dignity. People that put up with my relentless bitching. ^_^ Thanks, guys.

I know exactly how you feel on the whole issue of "getting pissed at yourself for doing crappier than you are". I'm a fairly competitive person, but more so with myself than others. That's why I would typically get pissed when playing cornhole. It wasn't a big deal if I won or lost, but I would get pissed if I keep missing the board and go 0/4. So yeah. You know what they say, "The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner", so I just went about my business
ReplyDeleteAnyways, it was still one hell of a party
