My Grandma, whom I love to death, whom which I'm finding myself increasingly distant and isolated from.....less and less in common............, and whom is always worrying (habitually nervous and prone to fits of panic, overweight, heart condition, high blood pressure when calm, spiked blood pressure when anything happens)..........did something odd the other day.

She looked straight at me- tears forming in her eyes- and told me that whenever she has to do something medical (in reference to my numerous tests, upcoming surgery, ect.), which is semi-often because of the abovementioned nervousness problems, she says that she treats herself to something special. With that, she shoves a wad of cash (mostly $1s from her tips at her job) and envelops me in an enourmous bear hug, choking back tears. She leaves, and I stand there, dumbstruck.

So I went to Borders after my blood work today, bought a little "treat" for myself-
Highlander DVD- The Immortal Edition (with Queen extras)
Gladiator DVD- 2 Disc Special Edition
and Phil Plait's "Bad Astronomy" book
