Speaking of the Wright Brothers/first flight Centennial,
GSC Update:
*The historic flight of the re-created "Wright Flyer" was not able to re-create the original historic flight (10:35 AM, December 17th, 1903) today at Kitty Hawk. Bad weather forced the grounding of the airplane, although George Bush, attending the ceremony, reminded the nation that the Wright brothers did not succeed their first time due to weather and promised that the U.S. would continue to lead the world in flight. More festiviites are planned, but many hoped Bush would use this opportunity to announce a new, bold space program initiative. Instead, he stopped to give a quick speech, and left before the historic flight was to be attempted. Sights are now set on Bush's State of the Union Address next month (coincidentally close to the anniversaries of the Challenger and Columbia accidents) as another shot at a space program boost.
