Current Mood: more paranoid
Alex narrowly escaped death today checking the mail. He came sprinting back to the apartment and slammed the door, chest beating, panting. Apparently the killer cicada is back, now stalking us by hiding in the mailbox.
Clearly the only solution now is to introduce a cicada-destroying invasive species to solve our problem. When those get out of control, we'll find a bigger/stronger animal. This can only end well, right?
Phase 39, robot chickens!

Current Mood: paranoid
Last night I was spooked by the sound of a rather large cicada (I think?) that suddenly decided to make its presence known. It flew out from behind my blinds and then around the ceiling, buzzing around my room with a terrifying noise. Let me put it this way -I heard it despite wearing my headphones with the volume cranked. No friggin' clue how it got in.
Eventually, I decided enough was enough. After studying its movements, I swatted it against my bookcase with my sandal. I left it there as a trophy to show my roommates the next day.
Today it is gone.
Did...did it reanimate? Perhaps I just stunned it?
