GSC Update:
*The Hubble Space Telescope (HST) is rapidly nearing the end of it's useful life. The sucessor to the famed HST will be the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). The telescope's mirror will be a 21.3 foot beryllium based mirror (vs. glass). The main contractor for JWST is Northrop Gumman (famous for it's F-14 fighter plane and the Apollo moon lander vehicle). The JWST is scheduled for launch in August 2011. The primary mirror will be 2.5 times the diameter of Hubble's mirror yet weigh only one-third as much.
